We got tired of watching good businesses do robot work.
InSearchLabs exists because the tools to fix this got cheap and easy years ago, and almost nobody told the businesses that would benefit most.
Enterprise gets an AI department. Everyone else gets a newsletter about it.
The gap is not capability. Every tool a large company uses is available to a small one, usually for a few pounds a month. What is missing is the part in between — somebody sitting with a business, working out which specific part of how it runs a machine should take over, and then building that.
That is the job we do. We work end to end — the conversation, the scope, the build and the handover — so nothing is lost between the people who understood the problem and the people who solved it.
If the honest answer is that this will not move anything for you, you will hear it on the first call.
How we work
Six things we hold to on every engagement, including the ones that cost us work.
- 01
We say no to work
If the honest answer is a spreadsheet fix or a process change, that’s what we’ll tell you — even when a bigger project was on the table.
- 02
Nothing starts without a written scope
What is included, what is not, and what it is meant to change. Agreed in writing before any work begins, so neither side is relying on what was said on a call.
- 03
You own everything
Source, accounts, documentation. Portable to another developer on day one, not held on a platform we control.
- 04
A human in the loop
Anywhere judgement matters, a person reviews it. Automation that quietly gets things wrong is worse than the manual version.
- 05
Smallest useful thing first
Something running on your real data early, rather than a big reveal at the end.

- First call, scope, build, and the person you email when it breaks
Who you’d actually be dealing with.
The person who takes your first call writes the scope, builds the system and answers the email when something breaks. There is no account manager in between, and nothing gets lost in a handover between the people who sold it and the people who make it.
That is deliberate rather than a constraint. Discovery is where the value is, and it does not survive being passed along — the detail that decides whether a process can be automated is usually something someone mentions in passing, and it has to reach the person building.
The checkable parts are in the open: the company number and registered office are in the footer of every page, and the work below is live and linked rather than described.
Registered, insured and here next year.
InSearchLabs Ltd is a UK company registered in London, working with businesses across the country and, increasingly, outside it. Most engagements run remotely once the discovery is done.
Everything we build is yours outright and documented well enough that another developer could pick it up tomorrow. That is deliberate: you should be able to leave, and the work should keep running if you do.

The first call is twenty minutes and costs nothing. Worst case, you get an honest opinion.
